Nobody comes to Yoga with their sh*t together.
Yoga is so much more than just stretching and, most importantly, yoga wasn't created for women!! In fact, a hundred years ago women wouldn't even have been allowed in a yoga class…because it wasn’t beneficial for them…
99.9999% of yoga classes you go to were designed with men in mind: Their physical capabilities and body shape; their psyche and emotions.
A standard hatha yoga practice doesn’t even consider things like the fact that we have breasts, and hips and hormones and key life events - like pregnancy and menopause - which can throw our lives and selves into chaos if we’re not approaching it with the right support…
And yet we throw ourselves into a male-designed practice…
...and wonder why we’re not feeling all the benefits of yoga?
I practised a strong, masculine, dynamic yoga practice filled with handstands and arm balances and I was absolutely ripped and looked amazing…
But my periods stopped altogether at 21…
My hormones and head were all over the place and I was absolutely miserable…
I was practising yoga 6 days a week for at least 90 minutes…
Why didn’t I FEEL amazing??
Why wasn’t I calm and zen and all of that other stuff I was waiting on??
I went on a loooong journey to find the right yoga practice… and just when I thought I’d cracked it, then I found what I needed had changed again!
