“I realised that menopause would come knocking on my door a bit earlier than most. Just like my mum, who went through full menopause in her early 40s, I too started experiencing symptoms around the same age.

You know, there are many women who gracefully sail through their menopause transition without suffering sleepless nights, anxiety, weight fluctuations, achy joints, heart palpitations or low moods. Yet, it's odd that menopause is often portrayed as an ailment needing 'treatment' rather than an exciting, healthy and empowering new phase of life, that it can be. This sparked my curiosity to explore how yoga could ease this life transition.

Do you want to know what I found to be the most disheartening aspect of ageing?

It's the way society convinces us that growing older is a bad thing.

In today's world, women are often seen as 'losing value' as they age. Maidenhood, youth, and fertility are considered the measure of a woman's worth within our patriarchal society.

But, you know what? I wouldn't trade being 43 for 21, even if you paid me!

At this age, I am more confident, I feel amazing (wrinkles and all), and I have a clear vision of what I want from life. I now take the time to nurture my mind, body, and soul. This is MY time!

That's why I created this programme: to help women like you embrace menopause and beyond, feeling positive and empowered. My course explores the stages of menopause, what to expect, and which yoga practices and lifestyle changes will best support you and the women you guide on this journey. There's so much untapped wisdom and value in the Enchantress and Wise Woman life stages that nobody talks about.

You don't need to be in menopause or even close to join. This course is for any woman who wants to learn how to age positively, embrace a lifelong, therapeutic and hormone-balancing yoga practice on and off the mat - for themselves or to empower others.

Meet Pam

PAM is going to be a very important guide on our journey also known as Positive Ageing Mindset: How we perceive ageing and our sense of self as we grow older. Once we reframe our thoughts about ageing, the physical symptoms naturally follow suit.

This programme includes specially designed yoga pranayama, asana and everyday mindfulness techniques to manage key symptoms such as hot flushes, anxiety, irritability, insomnia, fatigue, lack of focus, and low moods. You'll also learn about natural remedies, nutrition, Ayurveda, and medical hormone replacement therapy, and tons more valuable information (scroll down to view the complete contents.)

Yoga for Hormonal Balance

Although this programme primarily focuses on women over 40 transitioning through menopause, I recognise that hormone-balancing yoga can benefit women at all life stages. Hence, we'll explore yoga practices to help balance hormonal fluctuations and stimulate the endorcine system, throughout life.

This programme is a 50-hour programme accredited by Yoga Alliance International. I've made it completely online with live and self-study elements, to make it as accessible as possible. You'll learn how to support other women going through perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause, helping them manage their symptoms and mindset using my unique YogaPause practices. Being a Scot who has lived in Singapore for the last decade, my approach combines tried and tested elements of Eastern and Western medicine, creating the ultimate menopause yoga, mindset reset, and lifestyle programme.”

Who Is YogaPause For?

This training is for you if:

  • You want to work with/teach yoga to women over 40 in a way thats therapeutic

    You work with women over 40, either as a yoga teacher or other wellness practitioner, and want a comprehensive, world-recognized qualification on each stage of menopause. You will learn how best to serve your clients through every stage including yoga and breathing practices, meditations, and yogic self-care. You’ll also learn about physiology, the role of hormones throughout life, and how to strengthen the BAP’s (back, abs and pelvic floor) at this key time. You will also learn hormone-balancing yoga for women that can be applied at every life stage

  • You are over 40 and starting to experience changes that you suspect could be menopause

    You’re starting to notice things like insomnia and hot flashes that you never had before or perhaps you’re noticing changes in your menstrual cycle. You think that you’re moving towards menopause… but you don’t know, because who talks about it!? Or perhaps you're fully aware that you are on the menopause journey and feel disconnected from your body and don’t feel like yourself anymore. You find yourself feeling more exhausted than usual, perhaps you’re experiencing anxiety or low mood. Perhaps you’re finding that what you want from your yoga practice has changed and you want to know what are the best options to support you now, or maybe you're completely new to yoga but suspect that it could now be your biggest ally. You want to understand how this new life stage will impact your life and how to look to the future with a positive mindset, on and off the yoga mat.

How is the training delivered?

Live and Interactive Sessions

You can start the YogaPause programme online in your own time or join our live sessions (each 50-hour course runs live twice a year) at no extra cost. The course blends weekly live online yoga teacher training, guest expert sessions, and daily interactions in our online forum with the YogaBellies team and fellow students. Each week of training, you'll engage in a combination of these sessions and home study. We're always in touch, ensuring you stay on track throughout the course. And if you miss a session, you can access it later at your convenience.


Handbooks and Resources

You'll receive comprehensive course handbooks, adaptations for different female life stages and conditions, cheat sheets and more. If you choose to become a licensed teacher (optional), you'll also be provided with pre-written YogaBellies class plans.


Online Learning

Our online resources include pre-recorded live YogaBellies class videos, lecture and asana breakdown videos, all with lifetime access and the flexibility to watch at a time that suits you. You'll also have access to downloadable handbooks, asana cheat sheets, slide shows, audio learning materials, and more.


Assessment

For the 50-Hour YTT qualification, you'll need to complete an online quiz and submit a short video sequence to gain your certification. However, if you're taking the course for personal reasons, this isn't required.


Upon completing your course, you'll receive a downloadable certificate from YogaBellies School. These credits can count towards the 300-Hour EMPOWER YTT within three years. If you'd like a paper certificate, you can request one from Yoga Alliance International.
